What is the Vault Creation Lab?

Housed within the Coal Mine Theatre, The Vault Creation Lab is a playwright-centred home for bold ideas, new voices, and the creative process. Founded to address a critical gap in Canada’s theatre landscape, The Vault provides writers at all stages of their careers with the time, support, community, and resources needed to develop ambitious new work. Through our public labs, mentorship, in-house and educational initiatives, we create space for experimentation, collaboration, and growth. We believe great theatre begins with great writing, and we are committed to building a vibrant, sustainable future for Canadian playwrights and the stories that shape our culture.
